Playdough Recipe (microwave version)

2 cups flour            

1 cup salt

3 tablespoons cream of tartar

1 tablespoon oil      

2 cups water

1 teaspoon food colouring

Mix ingredients together (it will be runny) and microwave for 6 minutes, stopping every minute or sooner to stir.                                  

It is ready when it doesn’t stick to the spoon. 

Cool and use, then wrap in plastic wrap or air tight container and keep in fridge.

Playdough Recipe - uncooked

2 cups flour            

1 cup salt

4 tablespoons cream of tartar

1 tablespoon oil      

2 cups boiling water

Teaspoon food colouring

Mix dry ingredients together.

Put food colouring in boiling water and add it and oil to dry mix. Stir.

Knead on a floured board until it is soft, adding extra flour if needed.

Cool and use, then wrap in plastic wrap or air tight container and keep in fridge.

EXTENSION IDEAS:

Add glitter or sand or rice for different textures.

Add vanilla essence or peppermint for a fragrance.

For textured playdough:
add any one of the following:
sand
sawdust
cooked tapioca
uncooked rice
hide objects in playdough like shells or plastic toys.
